Ulises Castillo draws inspiration from his Guatemalan family roots and childhood memories of San José Acatempa, where coffee fields, flowing streams, and his grandparents’ store formed part of a world rich with stories. Through Lucia’s Little Adventures, he brings that sense of place to young readers, inviting them to discover the wonder in everyday life, family, and community.
